Our client, a leading electricity subsidiary is part of a renowned international construction group. Specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of energy infrastructure—including power generation, transmission, and distribution systems—the company has a history of delivering exceptional projects worldwide.

As part of a groundbreaking 10-year partnership with Scottish Power, the company is establishing a new subsidiary in Glasgow to manage Overhead Line Transmission projects. We are supporting them in the search for local professionals with entrepreneurial mindsets to contribute to this exciting expansion.

Currently seeking an autonomous and ambitious Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of this strategic initiative. Reporting directly to the Finance Director of the Electricity Division (based in Spain), the selected candidate will be pivotal in shaping the financial foundation of the Scottish subsidiary and contribute to a high-impact project.

Mission: Responsible for the Scotland's financial accounting from scratch. Oversee and manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial closings, and optimizing financial processes through task automation.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Monthly reporting of Analytical and Financial closings to Central.

·       Parameterization of reports within NAVISION for task automation.

·       Supervision of the tasks of the Finance & Payroll Officer.

·       Supervision of the accounting part of the payroll program

·       Supervision of timely payment of supplier invoices and payroll, banking operations, project controlling, collection of invoices issued to third parties.

·       Support of local audits.

·       Preparation of work papers to be delivered to tax advisors

 

Required Qualifications & Experience:

·       At least 5 years of progressive experience in Administrative, Finance and Accounting roles, with experience in similar environments / projects (electrical infrastructure) in the Scottish Market (Strong knowledge of Scottish regulations, financial principles, practices, and regulations.

·       Experience with Scottish Power: Direct experience managing projects for Scottish Power or working closely with them is highly desirable.

·       Fluent English, with proficiency in Spanish being advantageous.

·       Willingness to travel within Scotland and to visit HQs in Spain on a regular basis.
